Bad News just keeps coming

Day 1 of Part 1 and we have a 10am meeting to talk about the days ahead. The usual intro, meet and greet etc... names were called out to divide the room for Inca Trail v´s Community Trail sad news is that a little bit of a mix up at the time of booking and I am NOT on the Inca Trail. :(

So after asking and running around in the hope that I could change Trails (never hurts to ask), I just had to come to the fact that I was going to walk the Community Trail.

I am now with out any luggage booked on a Trek that I dont want to walk and need to ensure that I will be warm enough while walking the trail and sleeping at night. So off shopping now. (Phew!!! Glad I wore my boots on the flight).

Day 2 ' We leave Cusco with a 5am wake up call and drive to Sacsayhuaman (it is easier to say it like this Sex Sigh Woman). These ruins are best remembered for the gigantic blocks that make up the zig zag frontal of this fort like construction. Its and AWESOME place and the early morning sun light made the view of Cusco rooftops even more beautiful (Bah!!! who am I kidding I still would have loved a sleep in).

Back in the bus as we head on over the dividing ridge and into the Sacared Valley. Next stop high on the mountainside was the Pisac Ruins. We walked along ridges and up and down worn steps in to the heart of these ruins. We stopped to have our packed lunch in a nearby village, upon finishing lunch we find out that we are unable to get to our first camp site/community due to road work and will need to spend the night and make up time tomorrow. Yep!!! to make up time we need to wake up at 3am. (Man I hate early starts).
